Talking with our Children about Race, Racism, and Antiracism

What is racism? Where did the idea of race come from? What is whiteness? How can we raise children to be antiracist?

All GCBC parents and caregivers of children are welcome to this conversation. We'll meet Monday August 3rd 1:30-3pm in the south field at Trout Lake.

For content and some common ground together as we begin the conversation, take a listen ahead of time to these podcasts:

Scene on Radio: How Race was Made:

But Why? A Discussion about Race and Racism:

(If you don't manage to get to the podcasts ahead of time, come anyway! But if you do have a couple of hours in the next few weeks, these are well worth listening to.)

Please email Melanie at melanie@gcbchurch.ca if you have questions.
