During the Easter season, we are offering two opportunities for our church community to continue to learn about racism and pursue racial justice by listening together to Jemar Tisby, a noted scholar in history studying race, religion and 20th century social movements, the New York Times Bestselling author of The Color of Compromise, and president of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective where he writes about race, religion, politics, and culture. https://jemartisby.com/

Intro Session to Jemar Tisby:

  • On Wednesday April 14th  8-9:30pm we will watch and then discuss a 15 minute video from Jemar Tisby, based on his book: How to Fight Racism
  • In preparation for this session, you are invited to read the introduction to Tisby's book: LINK HERE and below.
  • The zoom link to this event will be found in the weekly Tuesday bulletin emails.

On Thursday evenings, beginning April 22nd, we will host a six-part Book Study on the same book: How to Fight Racism. Please note that you don’t need to attend the intro session in order to attend the book study.

How do I get a copy of the book? The church has ordered 15 copies of How to Fight Racism, which should arrive by the beginning of April. Please email pastors@gcbchurch.ca to reserve a copy. Books are $30 each but please let us know if cost is an issue.

Alternatively, you can also visit https://jemartisby.com/books/how-to-fight-racism to buy the e-book or audiobook.
